Experience Corps Bay Area Volunteers Honored at Appreciation Luncheon

Experience Corps Bay Area volunteers at recognition event

On Wednesday, June 1, Experience Corps Bay Area (ECBA) hosted an appreciation luncheon at the Marin Art and Garden Center to recognize ECBA volunteer tutors for delivering over 3700 hours of service and helping children in our communities improve their reading.

Sara McVey, Sequoia Living President and CEO; Sue Dichter, Director of Community Services; and the ECBA staff welcomed eighty tutors from San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma. Over lunch, guest speaker Joan Ryan, media consultant to the San Francisco Giants and award-winning author, shared insights from her new book Intangibles: Unlocking the Science and Soul of Team Chemistry. Joan spoke about how the fundamental human attribute of forming meaningful connections enables us to achieve our personal best while also elevating those around us to better individual and group results.

It was a wonderful day to celebrate Experience Corps Bay Area volunteers, and we loved being able to express our appreciation in person!
