What is a common reason for admission to skilled nursing?

Do you or a loved one need access to 24-hour skilled medical care? For the journey back to recovery and everyday life, people choose a skilled nursing center where professional caregivers help them recover following a hospital stay. After a hospitalization or experiencing other medical conditions such as knee surgery, heart attack, stroke, or hip replacement, skilled nursing aids in healing and recovery.

How long is a typical stay? For short-term skilled nursing residents needing temporary care, usually between 14 to 30 days following a hospital discharge. Others who require a longer-term stay or ongoing medical care may need a post-acute rehabilitation center, also available at The Sequoias.

When searching for a skilled nursing center, consider critical factors like clinical expertise, core values, overall atmosphere, and location.
