Meet the Residents Who Never Stop Growing

Meet Craig
When we asked Craig, “What’s one thing you’ll never stop doing as you get older?” he said, “I’ll Never Stop Taking Pictures.”
Craig, a professional photographer, moved to a Sequoia Living life plan community in 2022. After decades spent capturing the beauty and complexity of the world through his lens, he became intrigued by stories from friends about the enriching experience of community living. Little did he realize that his decision to make the move early, at 74, would open a new chapter filled with support, friendships, and the freedom to keep pursuing his passions.

Meet Don
When we asked Don, “What’s one thing you’ll never stop doing as you get older?” he said, “I’ll never stop singing.”
A retired architect, passionate musician, and dynamic resident of The Sequoias San Francisco. After a successful career designing hospitals and academic spaces, Don and his wife, Ada, sought a community where they could continue to thrive. They found it at 1400 Geary Blvd, just a block from Japantown.

Meet Jon
Life doesn’t stop. It finds a new pace. Jon has laced up for most of his life, but it wasn’t until recently that he truly found his stride.
As a resident of The Sequoias Portola Valley, Jon runs with greater joy, purpose, and consistency than ever before. “There’s something about this place that just makes you want to get outside and move,” said Jon Stoumen.
With 42 acres of natural beauty and direct access to Windy Hill Preserve, The Sequoias offers a seamless connection to the outdoors, something that’s helped Jon shift his passion for running into a new gear.

Meet Lynn
Lynn, a lifelong music educator and passionate advocate for the arts, began her 30-year teaching career after earning a degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She later served on the university’s School of Music Board of Visitors and has remained an active, dedicated presence in Marin County’s arts community.
