Sequoia Living Community Partnerships

Sequoia Living proudly supports organizations that align with our mission to help older adults age healthy and joyful.

The following partnerships reflect our deep connections to the Bay Area and the regions we serve, the seniors who participate in our programs, and the people who call our communities home. Thanks to our foundation, Senior Services for Northern California (SSNC),  we can help create brighter futures for those aging in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Beyond the partnerships listed below, our residents and staff support numerous charities through donations, volunteer work, and activism.

We’re proud to partner with the Buck Institute for Research on Aging in Novato, the world’s first biomedical research institution solely devoted to the biology of aging. As a Seminar Sponsor of the Live Better Longer Community Seminar Series, we support their pioneering mission to help people live better, longer lives.

Located near Viamonte, John Muir Health is a vital part of the East Bay health ecosystem. A former board chair and current Sequoia Living resident has been instrumental in strengthening this connection. Visit the John Muir Health Foundation website.

On behalf of Senior Services for Northern California (SSNC), Sequoia Living is proud to support the Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly – San Francisco Chapter Annual Gala. Their mission of fostering friendship, dignity, and connection for older adults who might otherwise face aging alone deeply aligns with our commitment to supporting healthy, joyful aging for all.

We support MarinHealth’s annual gala in recognition of our shared neighborhood in Marin and our long-standing ties, including a centenarian resident whose generosity advanced memory care services. Visit the MarinHealth Foundation website.

Serving primarily low-income Asian and Asian American older adults, On Lok is a natural ally in aging services. We’ve collaborated on several programs through the San Francisco Senior Center. Visit the On Lok website.

Openhouse uplifts LGBTQ+ older adults in San Francisco. We value their inclusive mission and strong connection to our San Francisco community. Visit the Openhouse SF website.

As a partner in providing nutritious meals to older adults, Project Open Hand’s gala gave us a chance to celebrate our collaboration with the San Francisco Senior Center. Visit the Project Open Hand website.

Our sponsorship of this event helped benefit the San Francisco Senior Center.

Trinity Center addresses homelessness in the Walnut Creek area. Our support was inspired by a resident who serves on their board and believes deeply in their work. Visit the Trinity Center website.

Starting October 2, we welcome a cohort of eight third-year nursing students from the University of San Francisco to Aquatic Park. The students will provide oral health screenings, glucose checks, and health assessments. Their goal is to strengthen community health, with a special focus on supporting immigrants and individuals who face cultural, language, and economic barriers to care.

We’re proud to support scholarships for children and grandchildren of Sequoia Living employees, helping create educational pathways for future generations. Visti the 10,000 degrees website.

Our support honors the many residents, families, and team members touched by memory loss. Register for the 2024 and 2025 San Francisco Walk here.

For nearly 30 years our Tamalpais Marin Life Enrichment Director, Heather Harris, has energized walkers by singing at the opening of the walk. Our resident rally in support and team up for this fundraising walk to End Alzeimer’s disease. Register for the Sonoma-Marin Walk here.

On behalf of Senior Services for Northern California (SSNC), Sequoia Living is honored to support Curry Senior Center, a legacy organization in San Francisco dedicated to serving the Tenderloin community. For decades, Curry Senior Center has provided vital programs and services that adapt to meet the evolving needs of older adults, ensuring they receive the care, connection, and support they deserve.

Together with the Institute on Aging, we launched the Support Circles program, an eight-week series designed to reduce social isolation, ease symptoms of depression and anxiety, and empower older adults through peer connection and skill-building. The program is made possible with a grant from the Saint Francis Foundation.
The first group began at the Downtown Senior Center, and this October, the next cohort will launch at the Aquatic Park Senior Center, serving Cantonese-speaking and bilingual Cantonese-English participants.

As a longtime member of LeadingAge, we’re proud to support innovation and leadership in aging services through the BOLD Conference. Visit the LeadingAge California website

When disaster strikes, we stand with the greater senior living community by supporting relief efforts through this vital fund.

We matched a donation from The Tamalpais Residents Association to support local public safety and education resources in Marin.

This partnership continues our tradition of scholarship support at The Tamalpais, reflecting our shared commitment to youth and learning. Visit the Marin Community Foundation website
