What Information We Collect

Our Site may provide online donation forms or other forms, which request information, including information by which you may be personally identified (“Personal Information”), such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and credit card information. Our online form also may provide an opportunity to submit other personal demographic information and to indicate specific Sequoia Living programs of interest to you, if you wish to provide us with such information. The decision to submit such other personal demographic information is entirely voluntary. We also collect Personal Information from Users that register an account to make recurring donations through the Site, such as your e-mail address and phone number. Additionally, if you choose to purchase event tickets through the Site, we collect Personal Information such as your name, e-mail address, mailing address, and credit card information. If you choose to link your third-party social media account to your donation account, we will have access to certain information from that third-party social media site, such as your name, public profile, and any information you choose to make publicly available, in accordance with the authorization procedures determined by such third-party social media site.

We may use this information to better understand the attributes and characteristics of those who utilize our Site. We may also use information gathered via our Site to improve our web-based services. We may periodically perform statistical analyses of aggregate User behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of various areas on our website and to use such information to improve on our website’s ability to serve you better. While such aggregate data and statistics may be shared with strategic partners and other like-minded organizations, our members’ specific demographic and interest information will never be shared with any third parties. How We Use and Disclose Information Collected Online

We generally use the information we collect online for the purposes for which it is provided and to communicate with you about our endeavors. For example, we use your Personal Information to process transactions that you enter into using our Site (such as donations or correspondence), and to respond to your questions or requests. We may also use your Personal Information to communicate with you about our organization or one of our communities and fund-raising activities.

We work with third parties who provide services that may include, but are not necessarily limited to, website hosting, data processing and analysis, back-up and security services, and processing of credit card transactions. We may share Personal Information with these service providers for the purpose of providing these services. Although we seek to require these service providers to protect such Personal Information, and to use it only for the purpose for which it was provided, we cannot be responsible for third parties’ violations of this Privacy Policy or of any other rights of visitors or consumers that use our Site.

If Sequoia Living is merged, acquired, or sold, or in the event of a transfer of some or all of our assets, we may disclose or transfer Personal Information in connection with such transaction. Other than to the extent ordered by a court, the use and disclosure of all transferred Personal Information will be subject to this Privacy Policy, or to a new privacy policy if you are given notice of that new privacy policy and are given an opportunity to opt out of it. Personal Information submitted or collected after a transfer, however, may be subject to a new privacy policy adopted by the successor organization.

Correspondence Practices

We may request contact information when a User accesses certain pages on our Site, such as the User’s name, e-mail address, mailing address, and telephone number. We may use this information to send newsletters, marketing materials or other information about Sequoia Living events and activities, local volunteer opportunities and donation appeals, depending on contact preferences you select.

Online Payments and Donations

You may be able to purchase event tickets or make a gift through the Site. If you choose to purchase a ticket, we will use the Personal Information collected to process the purchase and to send a purchase confirmation. If you make a gift, we use the Personal Information collected for billing purposes and to provide donation receipts. If we have trouble processing a donation, we may use this contact information to get in touch with the donor. This information will be also used to send the donor a tax receipt or letter. You may be given the option for Sequoia Living to send an acknowledgment to the individual or organization to whom you have donated, in which case we will provide your name and the organization to which you donated.

We may use third-party vendors to process donations, such as PayPal or Network for Good. Mobile Data

We may obtain information through mobile applications that you install on your mobile devices to access and use our website, applications or services or which you use to provide other services related to that mobile application (for example, to sync information from our application or service with such mobile application). These mobile applications may be our own mobile applications or those belonging to third parties. Where the mobile application belongs to a third party, you must read that third party’s own privacy notice as it will apply to your use of that third party mobile application. We are not responsible for such third party mobile applications and their use of your Personal Information.

Mobile applications may provide us with information related to a User’s use of that mobile application and use of our applications and services accessed using that mobile application. IP Addresses

Our Site automatically collects an IP address from all visitors to our Site. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our Site, analyze trends, track Users’ movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order for us to improve the Site, and deliver customized, personalized content. Do Not Track

Some web browsers have “Do Not Track” or similar features that allow you to tell each website you visit that you do not want your activities on that website tracked. At present, we do not respond to “Do Not Track” signals and consequently, we will continue to collect information about you even if your browser’s “Do Not Track” feature is activated.

Our Site contains links to other third-party websites, e.g. facebook.com. Please note that when you click on one of these links, you are entering another website for which Sequoia Living has no responsibility. Offline v. Online Practices

This policy applies solely to our collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information obtained online through our Site, and does not apply to any of our practices conducted offline.
