A dear colleague emailed me a wonderful quote from Dolly Parton: “Storms make trees take deeper roots.” It made me think of how all of us are responding with resilience and grace to COVID.
When a tree sways in a gust of wind, it causes the tree’s roots to grow deeper into the soil. The deeper the roots grow, the stronger the tree becomes. It isn’t just one storm that helps a tree grow stronger—it’s multiple storms over time.
Like a tree blowing in the breeze, when we respond with flexibility and openness to life’s storms, we become stronger and more rooted.
With gratitude to you all for being resilient, digging deep, and staying strong,
President & CEO
