In celebration of Lunar New Year, San Francisco Senior Center announces, “Unlocking Creativity,” a recognition event supporting safe access to the arts for older adults and people with disabilities. The ribbon cutting ceremony recognizes Cahill Contractors, Senior Services for Northern California, and Sequoia Living for joining forces to upgrade an existing art space inside San Francisco Senior Center at Aquatic Park.

San Francisco Senior Center serves 2,600 people each year at its two locations. Many participants come for engaging programs such as choir, dancing, acting, painting, and ceramics. Since 1947, the Center at Aquatic Park has offered a fully functioning ceramics studio with two kilns and classes for participants to explore their creativity.

“Over the years, the ceramics studio has seen a lot of talent, and it began to show wear and tear. Thanks to Cahill Contractors and Sequoia Living’s foundation, Senior Services for Northern California, we were gifted a remodel including lockers where participants can secure their wonderful creations and personal ceramics supplies,” said Judith Dancer, Director of the Center.
