Since our founding in 1987 as the supporting organization of Sequoia Living, we’ve supported programs and services that help Bay Area seniors of all income levels live healthy, fulfilling lives. You can have a positive impact on the lives of older adults throughout the Bay Area.
PLANNED GIFTS
Create your legacy. You can give a gift that will touch the lives of seniors for generations to come by making a planned gift to Senior Services for Northern California. Your planned gift may also provide lifetime income for you and your family while reducing capital gains and income taxes.
Choose from a range of planned giving options, including bequests, charitable remainder trusts, and pooled income funds. SSNC also hosts planned giving workshops for residents in our communities to answer questions about these impactful legacy gifts.
MEMORIALS AND TRIBUTES
Honor someone special in your life. Make a gift to Senior Services for Northern California in their name. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, or to honor the memory of someone you love. Choose your favorite fund, like the Tomorrow Fund or Community Services—or support the area of greatest need through our Unrestricted Fund.
SSNC will acknowledge your tax-deductible gift and send a letter to the person you are honoring or their family informing them of your thoughtfulness. The amount of your gift is kept confidential.
DONATE YOUR CAR
A generous way to go: Gift your car to Sequoia Living. It served you well. Got you where you needed to go. And kept you safe and comfortable along the way. But now that your vehicle is getting on in years, why not give it a chance to retire productively? By donating your car, truck, boat or RV as a charitable gift to Senior Services for Northern California, you can turn your car into a vehicle for positive change.
SSNC has partnered with CARS to make your vehicle donation process even more efficient. Simply call 855-500-RIDE (855-500-7433) or fill out the online form and a CARS representative will schedule your vehicle pick-up, usually within one week!

THE OMEGA CIRCLE
This extraordinary group of donors have provided gifts to Senior Services for Northern California through their estate plans with a bequest, life insurance policy, charitable remainder trust, an IRA, or a tax-sheltered annuity. Each year, Omega Circle donors are invited to a special luncheon hosted by Sequoia Living’s President & CEO.

OUR FUNDS
Through Senior Services for Northern California’s funds, you can select how your charitable contributions—both large and small—can be put to work. You may also choose to have your gift support the areas of greatest need, through the Sequoia Living Strategic Priorities Fund.
Sequoia Living Strategic Priorities Fund
The Sequoia Living Strategic Priorities Fund, made possible through unrestricted gifts, supports areas of greatest need within all Sequoia Living communities and programs. Your donations to this fund enable us to quickly respond to emerging opportunities to improve the lives of our residents and community members.
Donors can designate gifts to specific Sequoia Living residential communities, including Western Park Apartments, Eastern Park Apartments, Town Park Towers, The Sequoias San Francisco, The Sequoias Portola Valley, and The Tamalpais.
Tomorrow Fund
The Tomorrow Fund provides confidential assistance to residents in our continuing care retirement communities who have outlived their financial resources through no fault of their own. Your donation to the Tomorrow Fund helps these residents remain in the community they call home, providing them with peace of mind, stability, and security.
You can designate your Tomorrow Fund gifts specifically to help residents of The Tamalpais, The Sequoias San Francisco, or The Sequoias Portola Valley.
Endowment Funds
Endowment Funds are permanent funds that ensure the long-term continuation of specific programs. Donors “endow” their gifts by designating them for one of our endowment funds. We invest their gifts in stable instruments that produce continued and growing interest income for future funding of programs. There are separate endowment funds that support each of our Tomorrow Funds.
Community Services Fund
The Community Services Fund provides support to Sequoia Living Community Services programs, including the San Francisco Senior Centers, AARP Experience Corps Bay Area, Resident Services Program, and Intergenerational Program.
Health Center Funds
Health Center Funds provide special programs, equipment, and amenities for residents who reside in the Health Centers or Assisted Living units at The Tamalpais, The Sequoias San Francisco, and The Sequoias Portola Valley.
Special Project Funds
Special Project Funds support new Sequoia Living approved projects or programs. Examples include new equipment, approved capital projects, new social programs, and other enhancements to residents’ quality of life.
Employee Emergency Relief Fund
Through our Employee Emergency Relief Fund, the Sequoia Living community comes together to help our dedicated staff when they need it most. The Employee Emergency Relief Fund provides confidential, temporary support to Sequoia Living employees who are facing financial hardship in times of an emergency or disaster, such as a fire, flood, or health crisis.
