Sequoia Living’s Cal Groeneweg, RN, Named Risk Manager of the Year

Preparing for life’s “what ifs” might be stressful for some, but it’s a calling for Cal Groeneweg, RN, Sequoia Living’s Director of Risk Management. Every day, Cal focuses on identifying threats and keeping people safe at Sequoia Living. His work is a mix of prevention, incident management, compliance, and more—and no two days are ever the same.

“I love my job,” Cal explains. “There’s never a dull moment. I like looking at our whole organization and figuring out where potential pitfalls might be so that we can have the safest possible environment for residents and staff.”

Recently, Cal was named Caring Communities’ Risk Manager of the Year for his leadership and excellence. Caring Communities leaders presented Cal with a beautiful crystal award during the organization’s anniversary celebration in Clearwater, Florida.
