Wellness, Health & Happiness at Sequoia Living

Wellness director at Viamonte Walnut Creek Life Plan Community

As we age, we face different transitions and changes that require adaptability and adjustment to new circumstances. In senior living communities, these transitions are made easier with the support of professionals like Christine Jean, a Registered Nurse and the Director of Wellness at a Sequoia Living Life Plan Community.

Christine joined Sequoia Living in February of 2022. “I found my calling in senior living,” says Christine. “It doesn’t feel like work. It feels like I am going to my second home.”

Why Choose a Life Plan Community

Christine’s passion for senior living has driven her to work in the industry since 2015. Starting her career as an LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse), she has worked for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, ultimately finding a community where she feels she belongs and impacting the lives of residents daily. “I love working in a nonprofit organization because they prioritize the quality of care for residents and the happiness and fulfillment of staff.”

In her current role as Director of Wellness, Christine takes pride in getting to know residents on a personal level. To her, they are more than just residents – they are family. She understands that the aging process can be challenging and offers emotional support as residents transition through the stages of life.

Sequoia Living’s approach to wellness is multifaceted and encompasses spiritual, environmental, physical, and occupational aspects of life. Residents can access various options to support their health and well-being, including outdoor activities, aquatics, strength training, walking groups, meditation classes, caregiver support groups, and more. Life Plan Retirement Communities are dedicated to providing residents personalized care to help them thrive.

Embrace a Life Plan Community

Residents have access to professionals, including wellness center staff, nurses, the culinary team, the medical director, resident services, and the life enrichment team. The Sequoia Living team offers personalized support through an array of programs such as arts, fitness, community events, and more to nourish residents’ minds, bodies, and spirits, encouraging them to Never Stop Growing.

Viamonte at Walnut Creek is one of four Bay Area Life Plan Communities (sometimes called continuing care retirement communities or CCRCs) owned by Sequoia Living.
