Meet the Newest Sequoians Living Life Their Way

At Sequoia Living, no two journeys are the same, but they’re all driven by a shared spirit: to Never Stop Growing. Whether it’s learning, laughing, exploring, or simply enjoying more time with the people they love, these new Sequoians, Robert and Mary, Sharon, and Jeff, have embraced community living on their own terms. 

Meet the newest residents who remind us that purpose, freedom, and joy don’t end with retirement; they evolve.

Just a few miles down the road from their longtime home in Ladera, Robert and Mary Dodge found a new chapter at The Sequoias Portola Valley. Their decision to move was thoughtful and heartfelt, “a gift to our children,” they shared, offering peace of mind for their family and a deep sense of connection for themselves. With many friends already living at The Sequoias, rightsizing to the community felt like coming home.

Robert brings a spirit of curiosity to daily life with his personal motto, Never Stop Learning, while Mary embraces a graceful outlook with her own twist: Never Stop Forgetting.

Together, they embody what it means to be Sequoians, growing, connecting, and living fully with purpose and a sense of humor.

At The Sequoias San Francisco, Sharon White is embracing a vibrant new chapter filled with laughter, travel, and meaningful friendships. Originally from Hawaii and most recently living in Los Osos, Sharon was drawn to The Sequoias by its energy and warmth.

“I just like the vibe here,” said Sharon. For her, being a Sequoian means freedom. Freedom to Never Stop Having Fun, enjoying the company of friends, and traveling. Her zest for life and welcoming spirit make her a natural fit for this dynamic community in the City by the Bay.

Meet Jeff, one of the newest residents at Viamonte at Walnut Creek. A self-declared golf lover and family man, Jeff’s move was all about living with intention. “I’ll Never Stop Golfing—or spending time with my family,” said Jeff. 

He chose Viamonte for its convenience, the community connection, and the freedom to do more of what he loves. These days, Jeff is living life under par—with great meals, good conversation, and plenty of time on the green.
